In NFU’s conservation activities the ‘Carbon Credit Program’ is a good initiative to encourage agricultural producers and landowners to follow ‘no-till crop production’ and ‘longterm grass seeding practices’ allowing the storage of carbon in their soil. With the approval from the Chicago Climate Exchange to aggregate carbon credits, Farmers Union is enrolling producer acreages of carbon into blocks of credits that will be traded, there by adding extra income to farmers. The carbn credit income estimator is interesting.
